With vehicles traveling at high speeds at all times of day, interstates can be dangerous places for drivers. That’s especially true when traffic is stopped at any place on the highway. Such circumstances led to the death of an Alexandria, Virginia, woman in a recent auto accident, according to a report in the Fairfax Times. The three-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Pulaski County kept closed down that portion of the highway for close to eight hours, according to the newspaper report. Virginia State Police said the accident occurred a

When drivers make the choice to abuse their privileges by driving negligently, they risk the safety and lives of others. A vehicle accident can have lasting effects on the life of its victims, potentially causing ongoing harm and suffering. A reckless driver can face consequences for his or her role in any ensuing car accident and may be held responsible for any damages inflicted. In Prince George County, one careless driver is now facing this reality in court. A trial has begun in the case of a former FBI agent

Medical malpractice claims commonly originate from situations in which doctors, nurses or hospitals provide substandard care that dramatically affects the health of patients. Medical negligence can take many different forms, from a lack of care or treatment to unnecessary procedures that result in unnecessary expenses and complications. Recently, medical malpractice claims were filed on behalf of 39 patients with Maryland’s HealthCare Alternative Dispute Resolution Office. A number of doctors operating out of the St. Joseph Medical Center stand accused of medical malpractice for recommending and implanting heart stents in patients

Car or truck accidents are horrific experiences and have the potential to cause a wide range of injuries to drivers who fall victim to the negligence of others. A car accident can leave its victims with the heavy burden of unexpected medical costs as well as facing a loss of income. As readers in the Washington D.C. area may have heard, a two-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle occurred at about 7:30 p.m. last Wednesday resulting in the closure of multiple lanes on U.S. Route 50. According to eyewitness

Anything can happen during a traffic accident, particularly when multiple vehicles are involved. There are so many factors that can contribute to the severity of the collision that makes it difficult to predict how bad the accident will be and how serious the injuries the parties involved might sustain. In addition to property damage and bodily injury, sometimes car accidents can turn into something only seen in the movies. A multi-car accident on southbound I-95 caused a vehicle to temporarily dangle over the edge of the overpass. According a Maryland

With reports of accidents frequently dotting the headlines, articles and reports rarely tap into life after the accident for those involved. While the accident slips out of mind, victims often do as well. Serious injuries sustained in a vehicle accident can affect victims for years, from seemingly endless medical expenses to continued pain and suffering. Whether it’s a case of a distracted driver or one under the influence, every victim deserves to know about their options. Pedestrian accidents are particularly damaging, often leaving victims severely injured. In a tragic turn

A Maryland family of four died earlier this month as a result of a car accident while moving across the country. The family, which had decided to make the move to live on the West Coast, was traveling in two separate vehicles to make the trip when the pileup occurred. The 30-year-old father was traveling in a 2010 Ford Mustang while the 28-year-old mother and the couple’s two sons were in a 2007 Toyota Corolla. While on the road, a truck failed to slow down and ploughed into the back
