In yet another violation of the “move over law,” a Maryland State Trooper has been seriously injured while on duty. The accident occurred along Interstate 70 in June however authorities have just recently released the dash camera video of the incident in hopes of educating the public about the dangers of not obeying this relatively new law. A three-vehicle motorcycle and car accident left a 34-year-old Kingman motorcyclist dead and sent a second motorcyclist to the hospital, according to reports. The accident happened in Montgomery County close to the State Road 32 and County Road 775 intersection around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday of last week. The second motorcyclist, a 35-year-old Rockville man was airlifted from the accident scene and taken to an Indianapolis hospital after the accident. When someone is a passenger in a vehicle, that passenger is putting his or her safety in the hands of another, assuming that driver will drive safely and without incident. That was not the case after a car crashed into a tree on Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase Village, killing a female passenger and injuring the male driver. A child’s cerebral palsy was blamed on doctors in a medical malpractice lawsuit filed against Johns Hopkins after a 2010 birth resulted in a delayed C-section, which deprived the unborn child of oxygen. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a fatal accident last Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. that left one dead and sent four others to the hospital, including one of the injured being sent to a hospital that specializes in treating trauma patients with life-threatening injuries.
